How we make this list: we compare pricing pages, product documentation and public user reviews. Rankite is independent; if a vendor ever pays for a featured spot, that listing is clearly labeled Partner.
Key takeaways
- A dispensary POS lives or dies on state compliance: Metrc and BioTrack integrations are non-negotiable, and every system here includes them.
- Only IndicaOnline publishes flat pricing on its homepage (POS from $240/month, 14-day free trial, month-to-month). The other seven sell by quote, so budget by total contract, not per-register.
- Dutchie, Flowhub, Blaze, Treez and Cova are the full-platform picks with ecommerce and payments built in. IndicaOnline and POSaBIT stand out for payments-first operations and transparent pricing.
- Delivery-heavy stores should weight Blaze, IndicaOnline and Meadow; high-volume multi-location operators should weight Treez and Flowhub.

The best dispensary POS software
A dispensary POS is not a cash register with a cannabis theme. It is the system that keeps your inventory in sync with the state track-and-trace system, enforces purchase limits at the register, and keeps a sale from becoming a compliance violation. Choose wrong and you pay twice: once for the software, and again in audit headaches. These eight systems cover the real cannabis retail market, from single storefronts to multi-state chains.
#1
Dutchie
Best for: Dispensaries that want POS, ecommerce and payments under one roof
Visit dutchie.com
Starting priceSee website (custom quote)
Free planNo
Dutchie is the system most dispensary owners have already used as customers, which is a real onboarding advantage for budtenders. Dutchie started in online ordering and expanded into a full retail platform: point of sale, ecommerce, payments and marketing tools. Its site reports 6,500+ dispensaries and over $17 billion in annual sales processed, which makes it one of the largest footprints in cannabis retail.
The practical strength is how tightly the online and in-store channels connect. Online menus update in real time from POS inventory, so customers do not order products that are out of stock. Dutchie also maintains integrations with the track-and-trace systems states require, including Metrc and BioTrack, plus custom integrations in states with their own systems. Pricing goes through sales, so expect an enterprise-style quote process. Single-location operators can find cheaper flat-rate options below; multi-location groups that need one vendor for POS, ecommerce and payments should get the quote.
What we like- Deep online-ordering heritage, real-time menus that match in-store inventory
- Compliance integrations with required track-and-trace systems in every legal state
- Payments, loyalty and reporting inside one platform
Watch out for- Pricing is quote-only with no published plans
- The consumer-facing brand is so strong some buyers assume Dutchie is only an online menu tool
#2
Flowhub
Best for: Operators whose top priority is staying audit-ready
Visit flowhub.com
Starting priceSee website (custom quote)
Free planNo
If your biggest fear is a compliance audit, start with Flowhub. The company was founded by a former compliance officer and built its reputation on keeping dispensaries in sync with state systems. Flowhub unifies POS, ecommerce, payments and marketing in one platform, with an open API that connects to accounting, loyalty and analytics tools.
Flowhub processes over $3 billion in cannabis sales annually across more than 1,000 dispensaries, per company statements. Reviewers on G2 and Capterra consistently praise the compliance guardrails and the speed of the checkout flow. The trade-off is a sales-led buying process with no published pricing. Flowhub fits multi-location operators and MSOs that want compliance handled by default. A single small dispensary should compare the total contract cost against flat-priced alternatives before signing.
What we like- First-to-market Metrc integrator with deep compliance tooling
- Open API with 100+ integrations
- Mobile check-in and inventory apps designed for busy floors
Watch out for- Quote-only pricing
- The feature breadth can be more than a single small store needs
#3
Blaze
Best for: Dispensaries where delivery and mobile workflows matter
Visit blaze.me
Starting priceSee website (custom quote)
Free planNo
Blaze built its reputation on delivery and mobile-first retail, and the platform reflects that. The current Retail POS is fully web-based, which means no costly hardware upgrades: it runs on the tablets, terminals or desktops you already own. The suite covers POS, cashless payments through BlazePay, native ecommerce, marketing, website builder, mobile apps, analytics and delivery dispatch.
Blaze reports thousands of licensed cannabis businesses across 20 states on the platform, with 88-second average support ticket response times and a stated 98% customer retention rate. Reviewers highlight the training library (BLAZE University) and the migration support when switching from another POS. Pricing is quote-based. Delivery-heavy operations and dispensaries that want to avoid hardware replacement costs should demo Blaze. If you need published prices to compare today, that is not available.
What we like- 100% web-based POS that runs on existing tablets and terminals with no hardware lock-in
- BlazePay cashless payments, native ecommerce, delivery and marketing in one suite
- SOC 2 Type 2 certified
Watch out for- Quote-only pricing
- Strongest in the states where it operates (20 listed), so confirm coverage for your market
#4
Treez
Best for: High-volume enterprise dispensary chains
Visit treez.io
Starting priceSee website (custom quote)
Free planNo
High-volume stores are Treez's home turf. The company positions itself as the enterprise cloud commerce platform for cannabis retail, combining point of sale, analytics, cashless payments and ecommerce. Its homepage reports over $4 billion in annual transactions processed, 5 million-plus unique customers and a stated 15% share of US cannabis retail GMV. Those are company claims, but the customer base skews toward large multi-store operators and MSOs.
The open API is a real differentiator: Treez integrates with best-of-breed tools for CRM, ecommerce, delivery, marketing, loyalty, accounting and ERP, so larger teams can assemble a custom stack around the POS. Dedicated client success and 24/7 support are part of the pitch. Everything is custom-quoted, so Treez belongs on the shortlist of operators doing serious volume across multiple locations. Independent single stores will usually find simpler and cheaper fits.
What we like- Enterprise-grade POS with retail analytics and cashless payments
- Open API platform with a large partner ecosystem
- Purpose-built for the highest-volume operators
Watch out for- Quote-only pricing aimed at larger operators
- Overkill for a single small storefront

Ask budtenders which register they like and Cova comes up a lot. The company focuses on speed at the register and on support that actually answers: Cova says a real expert picks up in under 30 seconds, with 80% of issues resolved on the first call, and advertises 100% uptime on 4/20 for nine consecutive years. Those are company claims, but reviewers on G2 and Capterra frequently back up the support story.
The platform bundles POS, payments, inventory management, compliance, ecommerce and analytics, with integrations to leading cannabis tools. Cova reports 2,200+ dispensaries across the US and Canada. Pricing goes through a quote, so single-location buyers should ask for the full contract including onboarding and payment-processing terms. For owners who have been burned by slow vendor support, Cova's service reputation is the reason to demo it.
What we like- Real human support answered in under 30 seconds per company claims
- POS, payments, inventory, compliance, ecommerce and analytics in one platform
- 2,200+ stores across North America
Watch out for- Quote-only pricing
- Advanced multi-state needs should be scoped in the demo
#6
Meadow
Best for: California-focused dispensaries wanting POS, ecommerce and delivery in one place
Visit getmeadow.com
Starting priceSee website (custom quote)
Free planNo
Meadow started as Y Combinator's first cannabis startup and grew into an all-in-one dispensary retail platform. POS, ecommerce, delivery, loyalty and marketing live in one system, with customizable online menus and online payments. Meadow reports over $4 billion in cannabis retail orders since 2014 and claims 99.99% uptime, including full uptime every 4/20.
The compliance design is a selling point: real-time Metrc integration and audit-ready logs are built for states with strict track-and-trace rules. SMS and MMS marketing and loyalty tools come native rather than bolted on, which delivery-oriented stores appreciate. Meadow publishes a pricing page, but the full plan details require a conversation with sales. Delivery and pickup-heavy California operators get the most value here.
What we like- All-in-one POS, online ordering, express pickup and delivery in a single platform
- Built-in SMS and MMS marketing plus loyalty and rewards
- Real-time Metrc integration with audit-ready logs
Watch out for- Pricing page exists but detailed plans are gated
- California roots mean other-state buyers should confirm full feature parity
#7
IndicaOnline
Best for: Operators who want flat, published pricing and month-to-month terms
Visit indicaonline.com
Starting price$240/month (POS flat plan, per vendor homepage)
Free planFree trial (14 days)
The rare dispensary POS that publishes its prices. IndicaOnline lists flat monthly plans on its homepage: POS starting from $240/month, CBD/hemp from $400/month, distribution from $699/month. Plans are month-to-month unless you choose annual or biennial terms, and there is a 14-day free trial that does not require a credit card. That transparency alone makes it the easiest quote to compare on this list.
The product is a full retail platform: POS, real-time inventory management, Metrc compliance integration, ecommerce through Sweede.io, the IndicaPay cashless debit solution, delivery management with a driver app and smart routing, plus reporting and an open API. IndicaOnline reports 1,000+ dispensary customers and over $7 billion in cannabis retail sales processed. For independent dispensaries that want predictable costs and no sales process, start here.
What we like- Transparent flat pricing on the homepage (POS from $240/month, distribution from $699/month)
- 14-day free trial with no credit card required
- Metrc integration, IndicaPay debit payments, delivery cockpit with driver app
Watch out for- Add-ons for distribution and CBD/hemp push the flat price up
- Month-to-month flexibility depends on the plan term you choose
#8
POSaBIT
Best for: Retailers who want POS and cannabis payments from one vendor
Visit posabit.com
Starting priceSee website (custom quote)
Free planNo
POSaBIT pairs a POS with the payments stack most dispensaries actually struggle with. Cannabis retailers face constant payment friction, and POSaBIT's cashless and debit solutions aim to give customers a normal checkout experience. The platform adds integrated online ordering, customer profiles, purchase history, custom discounts, loyalty and detailed sales reports.
The company is publicly traded (CSE: PBIT, OTC: POSAF), which gives buyers unusual financial transparency for this industry. Customer testimonials on the site credit POSaBIT with higher average transactions and more budtender tips. Support is pitched as white-glove: a real person answers every call or email. Pricing is quote-based, so buyers should get payments terms and POS licensing separated in the quote to compare fairly against POS-only vendors.
What we like- Compliant debit and cashless payment solutions purpose-built for cannabis
- POS plus online menus, loyalty, tipping and delivery workflows in one platform
- White-glove onboarding with 24/7 personal support
Watch out for- No published pricing
- Payments-first positioning means buyers should confirm POS depth for complex inventory needs
What to check before you sign a POS contract
Compliance integration is table stakes, not a feature. Every legal state runs a track-and-trace system, usually Metrc or BioTrack, and your POS must sync inventory, sales and transfers to it automatically. Ask each vendor to show the integration live for your state, including how it handles the edge cases: product returns, waste, transfers between locations and partial deliveries. A system that needs manual reconciliation will cost you staff hours every week.
Then check the payments story. Cashless and debit solutions in cannabis run through specific vendors and carry their own fees and approval processes. If a POS vendor bundles payments, ask whether the POS works with third-party payment providers too, and what happens to your contract if you switch processors. Hardware is the next trap: some systems require proprietary terminals, while Blaze and others run on your existing tablets. Add hardware costs to the total before comparing.
Finally, test the offline story. Internet outages happen, and some cloud POS systems stop selling when the connection drops. Ask exactly what works offline: can budtenders keep ringing sales, and what syncs when the connection returns. Then get the full contract terms in writing: onboarding fees, per-register fees, payment processing rates, support tiers and the renewal terms. Quote-only vendors compete on the sales call; make them compete on paper.
The real cost of a dispensary POS
Most cannabis POS vendors sell by quote, which hides the real cost structure. Expect three buckets: software licensing (per register, per location, or flat), onboarding and migration (often a one-time fee of hundreds to thousands), and payment processing (percentage-based, usually the biggest line item). A quote that looks cheap on software can be expensive on processing, so model the full monthly cost with your actual transaction volume.
Published prices are rare. IndicaOnline is the exception on this list at $240/month flat for POS with month-to-month terms. For the rest, reviewers on G2, Capterra and SourceForge report typical cannabis POS contracts in the low-to-mid hundreds per month per location before processing, but treat those as ranges, not quotes. Your number depends on register count, locations and add-ons like ecommerce, delivery and marketing.
Watch the contract length. Annual terms usually discount 10 to 20 percent, but they lock you in with a system your staff has to learn. Ask whether implementation is included, what training costs, and what the early-termination fee is. If a vendor cannot give you the total cost of ownership for your store count and volume in writing, that is information too.
How we chose
We started with the categories buyers search: dispensary POS software, cannabis point of sale and cannabis retail software. For each candidate we opened the vendor's homepage, checked pricing pages and product documentation, and cross-checked features and company claims against public reviews on G2, Capterra, SourceForge and practitioner discussion on Reddit. We compared compliance coverage, payments options, delivery tooling, ecommerce depth and fit for single-location versus multi-location operators. Where a price could not be verified on the vendor's own page, we wrote "See website" rather than guessing.
Frequently asked questions
How much does dispensary POS software cost?
Most vendors sell by quote, so expect a sales conversation. IndicaOnline publishes flat pricing at $240/month for POS with month-to-month terms. Reviewer-reported contracts for the rest typically land in the low-to-mid hundreds per month per location before payment processing fees. Always get software, onboarding and processing costs in one written total.
Do I need Metrc or BioTrack integration?
Yes, if your state uses one of them. Every legal state runs a track-and-trace system, and your POS must sync sales and inventory to it automatically. All eight systems here include Metrc and/or BioTrack integrations. Confirm your state's system during the demo.
Can dispensaries accept debit cards?
Mostly yes, through cannabis-specific cashless and debit solutions. IndicaOnline offers IndicaPay, Blaze offers BlazePay, and POSaBIT specializes in compliant payments infrastructure. Each runs through specific vendors with their own approval processes and fees, so get the payments terms in writing separately from the POS license.
What is the best dispensary POS for delivery?
Blaze, IndicaOnline and Meadow stand out: all three bundle delivery dispatch, driver apps and route management with the POS. If delivery is a core revenue channel rather than a side service, demo these three first and test the driver workflow live.
Which dispensary POS is best for a single small store?
IndicaOnline is the easiest to evaluate, with published flat pricing and a 14-day free trial. Cova and Meadow are also strong single-store fits with all-in-one platforms. Get total monthly cost in writing from at least three vendors before choosing.
How long does it take to switch POS systems?
Plan for two to six weeks including data migration, hardware setup, staff training and menu configuration. Blaze states an average launch time of 15 days. Vendors that offer dedicated migration specialists (Blaze, POSaBIT, Flowhub) usually switch stores faster than self-onboarding setups.
