A review schema generator builds the Review and AggregateRating JSON-LD that lets search engines show star ratings next to your listing. This tool builds both blocks together, keeps the rating scale consistent between them, and flags the item types where Google will not actually award a star rich result no matter how correct your markup is.
For most item types, including Product, Book, Course, Recipe, SoftwareApplication and Movie, a correctly marked up review or aggregate rating can produce the familiar star snippet in Google Search. LocalBusiness, Organization and Service are different: Google only grants the rich result on those types when the reviews are not self-serving, meaning the business itself does not control or collect them, which in practice disqualifies most testimonials a business publishes about itself on those types. This generator shows a warning automatically when you pick a restricted type.
Google updated its review snippet documentation in July 2026 to explicitly state that sites should not include fake or undisclosed incentivized reviews on the page or inside structured data markup. Incentivized reviews can still be used when properly disclosed, but burying that disclosure in terms and conditions or off-page policy language is unlikely to meet the standard Google describes. The documentation also repeats an older rule: do not aggregate reviews or ratings sourced from other websites and republish them as your own.
A review block and an aggregateRating block can each stand alone or appear together. Add just a review when you are highlighting one specific testimonial, add just aggregateRating once you have enough reviews to summarize meaningfully, or include both when a specific quoted review sits alongside your overall rating. Only mark up reviews that genuinely exist on the page, since Google can issue a manual action for structured data that misrepresents real content.
