A case converter changes the letter case of any text you paste in, without retyping a single word. Pick a style and the tool rewrites your text as UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case, Sentence case or a developer format like camelCase. It runs in your browser, so your text stays on your device and the result is ready to copy in one click.

How to use the case converter

Paste or type your text into the input box, then press the button for the style you want. The result appears in the read-only output box, and the live counter tracks your characters and words as you edit. Here is what each mode does:

  • UPPERCASE turns every letter into a capital, useful for short labels, acronyms and emphasis.
  • lowercase makes every letter small, handy for normalizing pasted text, tags or email addresses.
  • Title Case capitalizes the first letter of every word, the classic look for headings and proper nouns.
  • Sentence case capitalizes only the first letter of each sentence and leaves the rest lowercase, which is how body copy and most meta descriptions read.
  • camelCase, snake_case and kebab-case strip spaces and join words for code variables, database fields and URL slugs.
  • aLtErNaTiNg cAsE flips letter by letter for a stylized, informal effect.

Title Case vs Sentence case

This is the choice that trips people up most. Title Case capitalizes every word: "How To Write A Better Meta Title". Sentence case capitalizes only the first word and any proper nouns: "How to write a better meta title". For SEO, the difference matters. Search engines treat both the same, but readers do not. Sentence case feels more natural and modern in search results, which is why most large publishers and brands now write headlines and meta titles in sentence case. Title Case still works well for short navigation labels, button text, product names and formal document headings. When in doubt for a headline or a meta title, sentence case reads cleaner and tends to earn more clicks. Whichever you pick, stay consistent across a page so your titles look intentional rather than accidental.

Case styles for developers

The code-style buttons exist because naming conventions are not interchangeable. camelCase joins words with no spaces and capitalizes each word after the first, like firstName; it is the standard for variables and functions in JavaScript and Java. snake_case joins words with underscores, like first_name, and dominates Python, Ruby and most SQL databases. kebab-case joins words with hyphens, like first-name, and is the convention for URL slugs, CSS class names and HTML attributes. For SEO that last one earns its keep: a clean, hyphenated slug such as /case-converter is readable for people, parsable for search engines and far better than underscores or spaces in a URL. Drop a messy page title into the kebab-case button and you have a tidy slug in seconds.

FAQ

Case Converter: questions, answered

What is a case converter?
A case converter is a free text tool that changes the letter case of whatever you paste in. You type or paste your text once, then pick a style such as UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case or Sentence case, and the tool rewrites the text in that format. Nothing is uploaded; the conversion happens in your browser.
What is the difference between Title Case and Sentence case?
Title Case capitalizes the first letter of every word, like This Is A Headline. Sentence case capitalizes only the first letter of each sentence, like This is a headline. Use Title Case for short headings and Sentence case for meta descriptions, body copy and most modern headline styles.
Does the case converter change my original text or send it anywhere?
No. The tool runs entirely in your browser with JavaScript, so your text never leaves your device and is not stored or uploaded. Your input box stays untouched; the converted version appears in a separate output box you can copy.
What are camelCase, snake_case and kebab-case used for?
They are naming styles used in code and on the web. camelCase joins words with no spaces and capitalizes each word after the first, common in JavaScript variables. snake_case joins words with underscores, common in Python and databases. kebab-case joins words with hyphens and is the standard for clean URL slugs.
Is this case converter free to use?
Yes, it is completely free with no signup, no limits and no watermark. Paste as much text as you like, switch between case styles as often as you want and copy the result with one click.
