How we make this list: we compare pricing pages, product documentation and public user reviews. Ratings come from G2, Capterra or Trustpilot, with the date we checked them.
Key takeaways
- Sweepstakes casinos use two currencies in most cases, Gold Coins for fun play and Sweeps Coins for sweepstakes entries that may be redeemed for prizes.
- No purchase is necessary to play, and free Sweeps Coins come from daily logins, mail requests, social promos, and other methods stated in each site's rules.
- Game library size varies a great deal, from poker focused Global Poker to slot heavy Pulsz, WOW Vegas, and McLuck.
- Redemption rules, minimum amounts, verification, and state availability differ by site, so read the sweepstakes rules before you buy any coin package.
- Set a spending limit and treat coin purchases as entertainment, not as a way to make money, and call 1-800-GAMBLER if play stops feeling fun.

The best sweepstakes apps
Starting priceSee website
Free planYes
Chumba Casino is the best known sweepstakes casino in the US, and its strength is a large, regularly updated slot library. Games run in the browser, so you can play on a phone, tablet, or desktop without installing an app, though mobile apps are also available in many cases. Gold Coins cover fun play, while Sweeps Coins cover sweepstakes entries that may be redeemed for cash prizes or gift cards after meeting the site's playthrough and verification rules.
The limit is focus. If you want poker, live dealer games, or a deep table game menu, Chumba is thinner than Global Poker or McLuck. Coin packages are optional, and free coins arrive through daily logins and other promos, but the amounts and timing change. Chumba fits slot players who want a large library and a familiar brand. Read the current sweepstakes rules for eligible states, minimum redemption, and identity verification before you play with Sweeps Coins.
What we like- Hundreds of slots with frequent new releases
- Browser play with no download required
- 24/7 support stated on its site
Watch out for- Table game choice is narrower than slot choice
- Coin package prices and bonuses change often

LuckyLand Slots, from the same group as Chumba Casino and Global Poker, focuses almost entirely on slots. That focus gives it a clear identity for players who do not want to sort through poker tables or sports content to find a slot. Original games sit alongside jackpot slots and themed releases, and a daily login bonus keeps free play going without a purchase. The welcome gift shown on its site includes a large Gold Coin amount and a small Sweeps Coin amount, though current offers change and should be checked at signup.
The trade off is narrowness. A player who wants blackjack, roulette, or poker will need a second site. Slot themes also repeat common mechanics, so variety comes more from art and bonus features than from new game types. LuckyLand fits casual slot players who log in daily and enjoy jackpot chasing. It fits less well for players who want a full casino floor in one app.
What we like- Slot only focus with original games
- Daily login bonus
- Jackpot slots included
Watch out for- No poker or broad table game library
- Some games are similar in style

Global Poker is the clear pick for poker players in the sweepstakes world. It offers Texas Holdem, Omaha, and Crazy Pineapple, plus ring games and tournaments, including large weekly events and championship series. Play uses Gold Coins for fun and Sweeps Coins for sweepstakes entries, with prizes redeemable under the site's rules. Strategy guides and hand rankings on the site help new players learn the games without risking a purchase.
Global Poker is not a general casino. If you want slots, you will need Chumba, Pulsz, or another slot site. Tournament play also rewards patience and bankroll management, since a deep run takes time and a single bad hand can end a session. Global Poker fits poker players who want real tournament structure without a real money poker site. Casual slot players should look elsewhere.
What we like- Texas Holdem, Omaha, and Crazy Pineapple
- Large tournaments including weekly flagship events
- Free play with Gold and Sweeps Coins
Watch out for- No slot library to speak of
- Tournament schedules favor players who can play at set times

WOW Vegas focuses on free play social casino slots, with new releases added often and a VIP program for regular players. The site states that no purchase is necessary, and WOW Coins cover fun play while Sweeps Coins cover sweepstakes entries. Daily specials and giveaways add free coins for players who check back regularly. The game list leans toward modern video slots with bonus rounds and free spins, which suits players who enjoy trying new titles each week.
The main caution is eligibility. Sweepstakes availability varies by state, and WOW Vegas states an age limit of 18 for accounts on its site, while sweepstakes entry rules may set a higher age in practice. Check the current terms for your state, minimum redemption, and verification steps before you buy coins. WOW Vegas fits slot players who like fresh releases and daily specials. It fits less well for table game or poker players.
What we like- Frequent new slot releases
- VIP program and daily specials
- Browser play
Watch out for- State availability and redemption rules need careful checking
- Table games are limited

Stake.us
Best for: Originals and live casino style games
Visit stake.us
Starting priceSee website
Free planYes
Stake.us is the US social casino version of the Stake brand, and it is not the same as the real money Stake.com site. Its strength is Stake Originals, simple fast games such as Plinko, Mines, Dice, Keno, and Crash, alongside slots and live casino style table games. The lobby shows how many players are in each game, which gives a sense of activity that many sweepstakes sites hide. Gold Coins and Stake Cash cover the two play modes, with Stake Cash used for sweepstakes entries under the site's rules.
Original games deserve a warning. They play very fast, so a coin balance can fall quickly if you raise stakes after a loss. Set a session limit before you open Plinko or Crash, and treat those games as short entertainment rather than a steady activity. Stake.us fits players who enjoy originals and a modern lobby. It fits less well for players who only want classic slots, since the originals dominate the front page.
What we like- Stake Originals such as Plinko, Mines, Dice, and Crash
- Live casino style games
- Active player counts shown in the lobby
Watch out for- Original games are fast and high variance
- Brand is separate from real money Stake.com, which confuses some users

Pulsz offers one of the largest sweepstakes game libraries in the US, with more than 1,000 titles stated on its site. Slots dominate, but table style games, tournaments, and leaderboards add variety. New players start with free Gold Coins, and daily login prizes, competitions, and giveaways add more over time. Loyalty points add discounts on coin bundles as you play, which regular players may value more than one time welcome offers.
Size has a cost. Browsing more than 1,000 games takes time, and the search and filters matter more here than on a smaller site. Some games are locked behind a purchase for seven days, which can frustrate a free only player who finds a favorite behind that wall. Pulsz fits players who want the widest choice and who play often enough to use daily rewards. Players who want a small, curated library may prefer Chumba or LuckyLand.
What we like- More than 1,000 social casino games stated on its site
- Daily login prizes and tournaments
- 24/7 support
Watch out for- Library size can make finding a favorite slower
- Some games need a purchase to play for a limited time

High 5 Casino brings a known slot maker directly to social play. Fans of Da Vinci Diamonds, Billionaires Bank, and similar High 5 titles will recognize the games at once, and the site adds daily free coins, boosts, and jackpots. Referral events and leaderboards give extra Sweeps Coin prizes to top players during event periods. The site states a 96 percent return to player figure for comparison, though individual game returns vary and should be checked in each game.
Eligibility is the key check. High 5 lists many states where Sweeps Play is not available, including large states such as California, Michigan, New York, and Washington, so a player in those states may only access classic free play. That list changes, so read the current page before signing up. High 5 fits fans of classic High 5 slots who live in an eligible state. Players in excluded states should choose a site that covers their state.
What we like- Well known High 5 titles such as Da Vinci Diamonds
- Daily free coins and jackpots
- Referral and leaderboard events
Watch out for- Sweeps Play is excluded in many states, so check eligibility first
- Classic style may feel dated to some players

Funrize is a newer social casino with a large library of more than 1,000 games, including slots, fishing games, and classic titles. Its daily event schedule is a selling point, with 10 or more special events each day, plus a VIP club that adds progressive rewards as you play. The site states that no purchase is necessary, and free play is available from signup.
Newness is the trade off. Funrize has less public history than Chumba, Pulsz, or High 5, so fewer independent reviews and community guides exist. Event terms, prize pools, and redemption rules should be read in full before buying coins. Funrize fits players who want daily events and a VIP track and who do not mind a newer brand. Players who prefer a long established name may stick with Chumba or Pulsz.
What we like- More than 1,000 games stated on its site
- 10 or more special events daily
- VIP club with progressive rewards
Watch out for- Newer brand with less name recognition than Chumba or Pulsz
- Event terms vary

McLuck combines a large slot library with live casino style games, including live blackjack, roulette, baccarat, and game shows, plus arcade games and table games. Many spins feed four jackpots, Mini, Minor, Major, and Grand, which adds excitement for jackpot hunters. The site states that verification happens once, then redemptions move quickly, and it offers iOS and Android apps as well as browser play. New games arrive weekly, so the library stays fresh.
Jackpots need a sober note. Chasing a Grand jackpot with rising stakes is a fast way to spend a coin package, and jackpot odds are long by design. McLuck is limited to players 21 and older who meet its state eligibility rules, so check the terms for your state before signing up. McLuck fits players who want live casino style games and jackpots in one app. Pure slot players may still prefer Pulsz for library size alone.
What we like- More than 1,000 games including live casino style games
- Four tier jackpots on many spins
- Fast redemptions stated on its site
Watch out for- Eligibility is limited to players 21 and older who meet state rules
- Jackpot chasing can drain a balance fast

Modo.us presents itself as a US owned social casino, with more than 1,000 casino style games, arcade titles, and boxes, plus 24/7 customer service. Play runs in the browser on any device, with no download required, and a welcome bonus of Gold Coins is shown at signup. The site is clear that it does not offer real money gambling, that no purchase is necessary, and that sweepstakes promotions are limited to eligible players 21 and older.
Modo.us is newer and smaller in community size than Chumba or Pulsz, so fewer player guides and forum threads exist. Game providers include many smaller studios alongside known names, which gives variety but also uneven polish across titles. Modo.us fits players who want a US focused platform and a large browser library. Players who want the largest community or the deepest poker offering should pair it with Pulsz or Global Poker.
What we like- US owned and operated platform
- More than 1,000 casino style games
- No download required
Watch out for- Sweepstakes entry is limited to players 21 and older
- Newer brand with a smaller community than the largest sites
How we chose
We checked vendor homepages, sweepstakes rules pages, app listings, and public reviews, and we weighed game library, free coin methods, redemption clarity, state availability, and app or browser quality. We did not claim hands on testing, and we listed only sites with a working official homepage during this review. Where a coin amount, bonus, or redemption minimum was not confirmed for the reader's state, we wrote See website rather than quoting a promo that may not apply.
How sweepstakes casinos work
Most sites use two currencies. Gold Coins have no cash value and are for fun play only. Sweeps Coins, Stake Cash, or a similarly named second currency are used for sweepstakes entries, and winnings from those entries may be redeemed for cash prizes or gift cards after meeting playthrough, minimum redemption, and identity verification rules. No purchase is necessary to obtain the second currency in most cases, through daily logins, social media promos, mail in requests, or other methods stated in the sweepstakes rules.
Redemption and state rules
Redemption usually requires account verification with a government ID and proof of address, plus a minimum Sweeps Coin balance that varies by site. Processing time also varies, from a few days to longer for a first redemption. State availability is the biggest variable, because some sites exclude many states from sweepstakes play while still offering free Gold Coin play. Always check the eligibility list for your state on the site's terms page before you buy a coin package.
Responsible play
Sweepstakes play can still become harmful, even though no purchase is required to play. Coin purchases are easy to repeat, fast games encourage rapid play, and jackpot chasing can lead to spending beyond a planned budget. Set a monthly coin budget, a session time limit, and a loss limit before you start, and stop when you reach any of them. If play stops feeling fun, or if spending affects bills or relationships, call 1-800-GAMBLER for confidential help, and use the responsible play tools on the site if available.
Frequently asked questions
Are sweepstakes casinos legal?
Sweepstakes casinos operate under sweepstakes law rather than real money gambling law in many states, because no purchase is necessary to enter. Availability varies by state, and some states exclude sweepstakes play entirely, so check the site's eligibility list for your state.
What is the difference between Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins?
Gold Coins are for fun play and have no cash value. Sweeps Coins are used for sweepstakes entries, and winnings from Sweeps Coins may be redeemed for cash prizes or gift cards after meeting the site's playthrough, minimum, and verification rules.
Can I play sweepstakes apps for free?
Yes, in most cases. Free Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins come from signup bonuses, daily logins, social promos, and mail in requests stated in the rules. Coin purchases are optional and only extend play or add Gold Coins.
How long does redemption take?
First redemptions usually take longer because of identity verification, while later redemptions may move faster. Timing varies by site and by payment method, so check the redemption page and help center for current estimates before you play with Sweeps Coins.
Do I need to be 21 to play?
Age rules vary by site and by play mode. Some sites allow Gold Coin play at 18, while sweepstakes entry often requires players to be 21 or older. Check the terms page for the site you choose, since the rule for your state may differ.
Which sweepstakes app is best for poker?
Global Poker is the best choice for poker, with Texas Holdem, Omaha, Crazy Pineapple, ring games, and tournaments. Slot focused sites such as Chumba, Pulsz, and WOW Vegas do not offer a comparable poker experience.
