Best Software for Wholesale Business in 2026: 8 Tools Compared

Key takeaways

  • Wholesale software splits three ways: private B2B portals (Pepperi, Elastic Suite, B2B Wave), wholesale marketplaces (NuORDER, JOOR, Brandboom, BlueCart), and Shopify add-ons (Wholesale Gorilla).
  • Almost nobody publishes prices in this category. Expect a demo and a custom quote from every vendor except B2B Wave, which lists tiered plans, and BlueCart, which discloses a $200 one-time vendor setup fee.
  • Fashion and apparel brands live on NuORDER, JOOR and Brandboom; food and beverage distributors have BlueCart; everyone else usually needs a private portal.
  • Already on Shopify? Wholesale Gorilla adds wholesale pricing and ordering to your existing store without a second platform.

Selling wholesale in 2026: portals, marketplaces and rep apps

Wholesale used to run on trade shows, PDF line sheets and phone orders. The software that replaced it falls into three buckets. Private B2B portals give your buyers a branded storefront with their own pricing. Marketplaces put your catalog in front of retailers you have never met. Rep apps put ordering in your sales team's pocket. The eight tools below cover all three, with honest notes on which bucket each one lives in.

#1

Pepperi

Best for: Brands and distributors with field sales reps and direct-store-delivery routes
Visit pepperi.com
Starting priceSee website (custom quote)
Free planNo

Pepperi is the field-sales specialist on this list. Where most wholesale tools stop at the online portal, Pepperi adds mobile order taking for reps, route planning and van-sales workflows with offline support, retail execution with store audits, and trade promotions. The vendor reports more than 1,000 customers across 65-plus countries, with consumer brands like Kimberly-Clark and SodaStream among the logos shown.

The honest catch is scope. This is an enterprise-grade platform sold through a consultative process, so small brands will find it heavy. In 2026 Pepperi joined Advantive, which is worth asking about on a sales call. If your reps still take orders on paper or by phone, Pepperi is the most complete fix; if you just need an online order form, it is more than you need.

What we like
  • Covers the full field-sales workflow: order taking, route accounting, DSD and retail execution in one mobile app
  • B2B ecommerce portal for 24/7 buyer self-service
  • Trade promotions management across channels
Watch out for
  • Quote-only pricing with no public numbers
  • The breadth (ecommerce, reps, DSD, promotions) means longer implementations
  • Now part of Advantive, so confirm the roadmap
#2

NuORDER

Best for: Fashion, footwear and lifestyle brands selling wholesale to retailers
Visit nuorder.com
Starting priceSee website (custom quote)
Free planNo
NuORDER homepage

NuORDER by Lightspeed splits into three products: a wholesale platform for brands (branded B2B sites with account-specific pricing), an assortments tool for retail buyers, and a marketplace where retailers discover new brands. The integrations list runs to more than 120 ERP, PLM and POS systems, which matters because wholesale orders have to land in the brand's real systems.

The honest catch is the vertical. NuORDER is strongest in fashion, footwear, accessories and adjacent lifestyle categories; a food distributor or industrial supplier will find less of their world here. Pricing is quoted. For a fashion brand doing wholesale, it is the default shortlist alongside JOOR; compare the two on integration depth with your ERP before deciding.

What we like
  • Purpose-built for wholesale buying and selling with visual assortments
  • Marketplace with 3,000-plus brands for retailer discovery
  • 120-plus ERP, PLM and POS integrations
Watch out for
  • Custom-quoted pricing
  • Fashion-centric, so less fit for industrial or food wholesale
  • Owned by Lightspeed, which shapes the product direction
#3

JOOR

Best for: Fashion brands and retailers operating wholesale globally
Visit joor.com
Starting priceSee website (custom quote)
Free planNo
JOOR homepage

JOOR calls itself the leading wholesale platform for global fashion, and the network numbers back the claim: the vendor cites more than 14,000 brands and 700,000 retail buyers on the platform, with over $120 billion in wholesale transactions. Beyond the network, the product covers virtual showrooms, line sheets, B2B order management, reporting and JOOR Pay for payments.

The honest catch is that JOOR's value depends on the network. If your retail buyers already use JOOR, onboarding is frictionless; if they do not, you are paying enterprise pricing to build the habit. Like NuORDER, it is fashion-first. Get the quote, then ask for reference customers in your category and your buyers' regions before committing.

What we like
  • The largest fashion B2B network, with a huge base of brands and retail buyers
  • Virtual showrooms, digital line sheets and JOOR Pay in one platform
  • Connects with 100-plus ERPs including NetSuite and SAP
Watch out for
  • Quote-only pricing
  • Fashion focus limits fit for other verticals
  • The network effect cuts both ways if your buyers are not on it
#4

Brandboom

Best for: Brands that want digital line sheets plus a buyer marketplace
Visit brandboom.com
Starting priceSee website (custom quote)
Free planNo
Brandboom homepage

Brandboom positions against the legacy wholesale platforms directly: digital line sheets and presentations, buyer behavior tracking, order management, payments through Stripe or PayPal, and automatic commission tracking for reps. The vendor reports more than 5,000 brands and $8 billion-plus in GMV, with a marketplace of 200,000-plus active buyers.

The honest catch is the pricing page that is not a pricing page. Brandboom publishes no numbers and instead contrasts itself against competitors' "$10K 12-month contracts," which tells you the neighborhood without telling you the rent. The cancel-anytime positioning is genuinely different from the annual contracts common here. For an apparel brand comparing against NuORDER and JOOR, Brandboom is the third quote to get.

What we like
  • Line sheets, showrooms, order management and payments in one workflow
  • Marketplace with 200,000-plus active buyers
  • No long-term contracts, cancel anytime
Watch out for
  • No published pricing
  • The vendor's "30 to 40 percent less than legacy platforms" claim needs a real quote to verify
  • Strongest in apparel and fashion
#5

Elastic Suite

Best for: Brands with complex wholesale workflows and large retailer networks
Visit elasticsuite.com
Starting priceSee website (custom quote)
Free planNo
Elastic Suite homepage

Elastic Suite is the heavy-duty private portal on this list. Where lighter tools offer a storefront with customer pricing, Elastic Suite handles prebooks, multi-ship orders, approval chains, retailer-specific catalogs and complex business rules, backed by more than 250 integrations. The vendor focuses on brands with big assortments and seasonal selling: outdoor, apparel, footwear, sporting goods and similar.

The honest catch is that this is enterprise software with enterprise timelines. There is no self-serve tier and no public pricing. It fits brands whose wholesale operation has genuinely complex rules that simpler portals cannot model. If your needs are a branded storefront with tiered pricing, B2B Wave or Wholesale Gorilla cover it at a fraction of the cost and effort.

What we like
  • Built for wholesale complexity: prebooks, multi-ship orders, approval workflows and account-specific assortments
  • More than 250 integrations with ERP, PIM, CRM and ecommerce systems
  • Strong in outdoor, apparel and sporting goods
Watch out for
  • Quote-only enterprise pricing
  • Implementation is a real project
  • More platform than a small brand needs
#6

BlueCart

Best for: Food and beverage distributors selling to restaurants and hospitality
Visit bluecart.com
Starting priceSee website (custom quote; $200 one-time vendor setup fee)
Free planNo
BlueCart homepage

BlueCart is the only vertical pick on this list: wholesale software built for food and beverage distributors selling to restaurants, cafes, hotels and foodservice. Vendors get a digital storefront, order management, inventory, invoicing, delivery zone management and a buyer CRM, plus access to the Endless Aisle marketplace where restaurant buyers discover suppliers. The vendor discloses a $200 one-time Endless Aisle vendor setup fee covering onboarding and catalog help.

The honest catch is the subscription price, which is not published: expect a quote. The marketplace dynamic also deserves thought. Endless Aisle gives you buyer discovery, but your products sit next to competitors'. For a specialty food distributor still taking orders by phone and text, BlueCart replaces the whole mess; for anyone outside food and beverage, it is not relevant.

What we like
  • Vertical-specific for food and beverage wholesale, including delivery zones and route management
  • Endless Aisle marketplace puts vendors in front of restaurant buyers
  • Storefront, order management, inventory, invoicing and CRM in one system
Watch out for
  • Food and beverage focus means little fit elsewhere
  • No published subscription pricing
  • The marketplace model means competing with other vendors in front of the same buyers
#7

B2B Wave

Best for: Small to midsize wholesalers that want their own branded B2B store
Visit b2bwave.com
Starting priceSee website (Lite/Pro/Scale/Enterprise tiers)
Free planNo (free trial with no credit card required)
B2B Wave homepage

B2B Wave is the self-serve end of the wholesale portal market. You get a branded B2B store at your own subdomain, customer-specific price lists, PDF catalogs, a sales rep app, and integrations with QuickBooks, Xero, ShipStation and Stripe. A free trial requires no credit card, and the vendor says most customers go live in weeks.

The honest catch is the pricing page itself: it lists Lite, Pro, Scale and Enterprise tiers with GBP figures and a 50-percent-off promo, but the mapping to USD plans is unclear, so confirm your actual price before budgeting. Even so, B2B Wave is the fastest way for a small wholesaler to get a real portal without a sales process. Compare it against Wholesale Gorilla if you are already on Shopify.

What we like
  • The only tool here with public tiered plans
  • Branded storefront with customer-specific pricing, PDF catalogs and a sales rep app
  • Integrates with QuickBooks, Xero, ShipStation, Stripe and Avalara
Watch out for
  • Pricing page shows GBP figures that are hard to map to USD plans
  • Enterprise is contact-us
  • Smaller vendor with a narrower integration list than the big platforms
#8

Wholesale Gorilla

Best for: Shopify stores adding a wholesale channel to their existing site
Visit wholesalegorilla.com
Starting priceSee website (paid Shopify app; pricing on the app store)
Free planNo

Wholesale Gorilla takes the opposite approach from everyone else here: instead of a separate wholesale platform, it turns your Shopify store into a wholesale channel. Wholesale buyers log in, see their own pricing and products, order through a quick order form, and get net payment terms, while retail customers see the normal storefront. Pricing tags control who sees what.

The honest catch is the platform lock-in. Everything runs on Shopify, so the app is only as good as your Shopify setup, and migrating off Shopify later means rebuilding wholesale from scratch. Pricing is not on the vendor site; it is listed on the Shopify App Store. For a Shopify brand whose wholesale is growing but not yet big enough for a standalone platform, it is the pragmatic choice.

What we like
  • Runs inside your existing Shopify store, no second platform
  • Wholesale pricing tags, quick order forms and customer registration with approval
  • Net terms and wholesale-specific shipping rules
Watch out for
  • Shopify-only, so no help if you ever leave the platform
  • Pricing lives on the Shopify App Store rather than the vendor site
  • Advanced features like quantity breaks sit on higher app tiers

Marketplace vs. private portal: the fork in the road

The first decision is not which tool but which model. Marketplaces (NuORDER, JOOR, Brandboom, BlueCart's Endless Aisle) bring you buyers you do not have, but they take a cut or a fee and your products sit beside competitors. Private portals (Pepperi, Elastic Suite, B2B Wave, Wholesale Gorilla) serve the buyers you already have, with your branding and your rules, but they bring you zero new customers.

Most growing wholesale businesses end up with both: a portal for existing accounts and a marketplace presence for discovery. If you must pick one, pick based on your bottleneck. No buyers? Marketplace. Buyers stuck on phone and email ordering? Portal. The vendors will each argue their model is the whole answer; it is not.

Why nobody publishes prices (and how to compare quotes)

Seven of these eight vendors hide pricing behind a demo, and that is normal for B2B wholesale software. The price depends on your order volume, user count, integrations and whether you need the marketplace, the portal, or both. A brand doing $2 million in wholesale pays a different number than one doing $50 million, and the vendors know it.

Compare quotes on total cost, not the headline. Ask each vendor for the implementation fee, the annual subscription, any per-order or GMV-based fees, the marketplace commission if applicable, and the renewal uplift terms. B2B Wave's public tiers and BlueCart's disclosed setup fee give you anchors; use them to pressure-test the custom quotes. And get the contract length in writing: Brandboom's cancel-anytime positioning is the exception, not the rule.

How we chose

We started with the categories buyers search: wholesale software, B2B wholesale platform, wholesale management software and B2B ecommerce platform. For each candidate we opened the vendor's own site, confirmed the official URL from the browser address bar, and checked for published pricing. Where a price could not be verified on the vendor's page we wrote "See website" rather than guessing. We excluded pure distribution and warehouse tools (covered in our distribution software guide) to keep this list focused on B2B trade operations.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between wholesale software and distribution software?

Wholesale software manages the selling side of B2B trade: storefronts, line sheets, buyer accounts, rep ordering and marketplaces. Distribution software manages the operations side: inventory, warehousing, purchasing and fulfillment. Many businesses eventually need both; this guide covers the selling side.

Should I sell wholesale on a marketplace or my own portal?

Marketplaces bring discovery: retailers find your products without you finding them first. Portals serve existing relationships with your branding and pricing rules. Most established wholesalers run both. Start with whichever solves your current bottleneck: no buyers means marketplace, manual ordering means portal.

How much does wholesale software cost?

Mostly custom-quoted. Expect anywhere from tens to hundreds of dollars a month for Shopify add-ons and small-business portals, to thousands a month for enterprise platforms like Pepperi, Elastic Suite, NuORDER and JOOR. BlueCart discloses a $200 one-time vendor setup fee; B2B Wave lists tiered plans. Always ask for implementation fees and renewal terms, not just the subscription.

Do I need wholesale software if I already sell on Shopify?

Shopify handles retail well but wholesale needs are different: customer-specific pricing, tax exemption, net terms, quick order forms and buyer approval. Wholesale Gorilla adds all of that inside Shopify. If wholesale is a small side channel, the app is enough; if it becomes half your revenue, consider a dedicated portal.

Which wholesale platform is best for fashion brands?

NuORDER, JOOR and Brandboom are the three built for fashion and apparel wholesale. NuORDER and JOOR both run large buyer networks; Brandboom leads with line sheets and a cancel-anytime model. Shortlist all three and compare integration depth with your ERP and where your buyers already are.
