How we make this list: we compare pricing pages, product documentation and public user reviews. Rankite is independent; if a vendor ever pays for a featured spot, that listing is clearly labeled Partner.
Retail media has grown from sponsored product listings into one of the largest advertising categories in the US. The logic is simple: retailers sit on purchase histories for millions of shoppers, and brands will pay to reach people who are already in a buying mindset. Amazon built the template, Walmart scaled the omnichannel version, and dozens of grocery, pharmacy and specialty retailers have since launched their own networks.
For advertisers, the choice is no longer whether to spend in retail media but how to split the budget. Sponsored search remains the workhorse with the most direct returns, while off-site audience extension, connected TV and in-store screens push the channel up the funnel. The eight platforms below cover the networks that matter most, plus the commerce media players that operate across retailers.

| Advertisers that want commerce data applied across many retailers and the open web | Custom | No | |
| Brands targeting premium shoppers with precise loyalty-data audiences | Custom | No | |
| Grocery, beverage and CPG brands that live in delivery baskets | Self-serve, auction based | No | |

We focused on platforms where real retail media budgets are spent: networks with meaningful advertiser adoption, first-party purchase data, and credible measurement. That includes the scaled retailer-owned networks, the commerce media platforms that operate across retailers, and the ad tech that powers retailer deployments. We left out generic DSPs with no retail data asset, affiliate networks, and single-retailer coupon apps. Pricing in this category is mostly auction or custom, so we describe the buying model rather than inventing rate cards.
Start where the product is sold. If most of your volume moves on Amazon, sponsored search there earns the first dollar; if Walmart or Kroger dominate your category, start there instead. Fund sponsored search before expanding into off-site, CTV or in-store, since search typically delivers the highest direct return. Then add one reach layer: Criteo for open-web commerce audiences, Roundel or Kroger for loyalty-data precision, Rokt for the transaction moment. Keep measurement honest by tracking incremental sales, not just attributed ones, and renegotiate or reallocate quarterly as auction prices move.
