Vinted is one of the few major resale marketplaces that charges no selling commission at all. Instead, the fee sits entirely on the buyer's side of the transaction, added at checkout as a Buyer Protection fee. Sellers set a price, and that is what they receive, minus any shipping cost they choose to cover themselves.
Vinted's US price list calculates the Buyer Protection fee as $0.70 plus 5% of the item price, excluding shipping, taxes, and any other charges. A $50 item carries a $3.20 fee ($0.70 plus 5% of $50), added on top of the item price at checkout. Rates are broadly similar across Vinted's other markets, though the fixed component is shown in local currency.
Most resale platforms like Depop, Poshmark, or Mercari take a commission out of the seller's proceeds instead. Vinted's buyer-funded model means a seller's advertised price is their actual payout, which makes pricing simpler for sellers but adds a visible line item for buyers to factor in before checking out.
