The Hobby plan charges a 10% transaction fee on every payment, on top of the $9/month subscription.

Skool sells two plans: Hobby at $9 a month, which carries a 10% transaction fee on every payment, and Pro at $99 a month, which carries a much lower 2.9% plus $0.30 fee, per Skool's own pricing page. There is no free tier; every community owner pays at least the $9 monthly Hobby subscription.
On the Pro plan, the published 2.9% plus $0.30 rate applies to transactions up to $899. Once a single transaction reaches $900 or more, the rate rises to 3.9% plus $0.30. This mostly affects communities selling high-ticket offers or annual memberships in a single charge rather than smaller monthly payments.
The $90 monthly gap between Hobby and Pro is recovered once the fee-rate difference (roughly 7 percentage points) saves more than $90 a month, which happens at around $1,270 in monthly payment volume for transactions under $900. Below that revenue level, Hobby's lower subscription price plus its higher transaction fee usually costs less overall.
