Putting a list in alphabetical order by hand is slow and easy to get wrong, especially once it runs past a dozen items or mixes capital and lowercase letters. This tool sorts any list you paste, one item per line, into clean alphabetical order, A to Z or Z to A. It can ignore capitalisation so uppercase words do not jump to the top, and strip out duplicates in the same pass.
Paste your list with each item on its own line, then choose the direction: A to Z for standard order or Z to A to reverse it. The sorted result appears immediately and updates whenever you change an option, so you can experiment without re-pasting.
By default the tool ignores case, which is what most people expect: apple, Banana, and cherry sort as a-b-c rather than sending every capitalised word to the front. Turn that option off if you specifically want a case-sensitive sort where capitals come first.
Long lists pasted from different sources often carry duplicates. Tick the remove duplicates option and the tool keeps only the first occurrence of each item before sorting, so your final list is both ordered and unique. When ignore case is on, entries that differ only in capitalisation are treated as the same item.
The sort runs locally with plain JavaScript. Your list is never uploaded or saved, so you can safely alphabetize names, emails, keywords, or any private data. It is instant even for long lists.
