An AI Overview readiness checker scans a piece of content for the structural signals that answer engines lean on when deciding what to extract and cite, then scores it out of 100 with a plain breakdown of what to fix. Paste in a page's body text and the score updates as you edit, so you can rewrite and recheck in the same window.

The five signals this checker scores

The score starts at a neutral baseline and adjusts for five things: whether the opening sentence states a plain answer in 30 words or fewer with no question mark, whether the content includes at least one bulleted or numbered list, whether it contains a concrete number or statistic, whether it includes a question-style heading useful for FAQ and People Also Ask matching, and whether the total word count falls in a typical useful depth range. A penalty applies if the average sentence length runs long, since dense, clause-heavy sentences are harder for both readers and language models to lift cleanly into an answer.

Why AI Overviews reward structure over prose

AI Overviews and similar answer engines are built to extract a compact, quotable answer, not to summarize an entire article. A page that spends a paragraph building context before stating its point is harder to pull from than one that answers plainly in the first sentence and then supports that answer with lists, numbers and specifics underneath. Writing for skimmers, in other words, tends to also write well for extraction.

What this score cannot tell you

Structure only gets a page into the running. AI Overviews and other answer engines still weigh topical authority, whether multiple independent sources agree, how current the information is, and the underlying accuracy of the claims themselves, none of which this checker can evaluate from pasted text alone. Treat a high score as removing a structural barrier to citation, not as a prediction that a citation will follow.

FAQ

AI Overview Readiness Checker: questions, answered

What does this checker actually measure?
It scans pasted text for five structural signals AI systems commonly favor when extracting answers: a short direct opening statement, at least one list, a concrete number or statistic, a question-style heading, and a word count in a typical useful range, then combines them into a score out of 100.
Does a high score guarantee my page will appear in Google AI Overviews or ChatGPT answers?
No. AI Overviews and other answer engines choose sources based on many factors this tool cannot see, including topical authority, how many other sources say the same thing, freshness, and the underlying accuracy of the content. A high structural score only means the page is easier to extract from, not that it will be chosen.
Why does the checker reward a short opening sentence?
Multiple studies and Google's own AI Overview behavior show that pulled answers overwhelmingly come from the first few sentences of a page. A page that spends a paragraph building context before answering the question is harder for an extraction system to quote cleanly.
Why does sentence length matter?
Long, clause-heavy sentences are harder for both readers and language models to parse into a single clean fact. Shorter sentences are more likely to be lifted whole into a generated answer.
Is this the same as the AI Brand Visibility Checker?
No. The visibility checker estimates how often your brand shows up across AI chat tools. This tool scores the structure of a single piece of content you paste in, which is a page-level editing check rather than a brand-wide visibility estimate.
Does this tool store or send my content anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you paste is uploaded, stored or shared.
