How we make this list: we compare pricing pages, product documentation and public user reviews. Rankite is independent; if a vendor ever pays for a featured spot, that listing is clearly labeled Partner.
Key takeaways
- The cheapest ways in: ShipStation ($14.99/month for 50 shipments), Veeqo (free Shipping plan, Inventory from $19/month) and Ordoro (free Shipping plan for 100 orders a month, paid Shipping from $59/month).
- For warehouse-grade order management, SKULabs starts at $299/month and Descartes Finale (formerly Finale Inventory) starts at $499/month.
- Brightpearl, Extensiv and Flxpoint publish no prices: every one of them sells through a demo and a custom quote.
- Note: Orderhive, once a popular OMS, was acquired by Cin7 and its site now redirects there, so shortlist Cin7 instead if that name comes up in old reviews.

What order management software actually does
An order management system sits between your sales channels and your warehouse. Orders flow in from Shopify, Amazon, eBay and everywhere else; the OMS routes them, splits them across warehouses, prints the labels, updates stock everywhere, and pushes tracking back to the customer. Without one, that work happens in five browser tabs and a spreadsheet. These eight tools cover the OMS market from free shipping plans to enterprise platforms, with the real prices for each.
Starting price$14.99/month (Starter, 50 shipments)
Free planYes (limited free plan)
ShipStation prices by shipment volume, which makes the math easy: Starter at $14.99 a month covers 50 shipments, Standard at $29.99 covers 50 shipments with more users and features, and the scale runs to $3,599.99 a month for 100,000 shipments. Every plan includes discounted carrier rates, automation rules, and integrations with the major marketplaces and carts. A limited free plan exists for the smallest shippers.
The honest catch is that ShipStation is shipping-first. Inventory sync, purchase orders, scan-to-receive and warehouse picking appear on Standard and Premium, not Starter. If your main problem is labels and tracking, it is the cheapest serious option here. If your main problem is stock control across warehouses, start with one of the inventory-first tools below.
What we like- Published per-shipment pricing that scales cleanly from 50 to 100,000 shipments a month
- Discounted carrier rates with USPS, UPS, FedEx and DHL
- 90-day money-back guarantee
Watch out for- Real inventory and warehouse features start on Standard ($29.99) and Premium ($349.99)
- Per-label costs sit outside the subscription
- Advanced automation is gated to higher tiers
#2
Veeqo
Best for: Amazon and multichannel sellers who want shipping free
Visit veeqo.com
Starting priceFree (Shipping plan); $19/month (Inventory plan)
Free planYes (Shipping plan: unlimited shipments, users and SKUs)
Veeqo, owned by Amazon, splits into two products. The Shipping plan is free and genuinely useful: unlimited shipments, users, products and warehouses, bulk label printing up to 100 orders per click, and rate shopping across the major carriers. The Inventory plan from $19 a month adds automated inventory sync across channels, demand forecasting, digital picking and unlimited multichannel listings.
The honest catch is the boundary between the plans. Sellers who only need labels can run on free forever; anyone who needs stock levels synced across channels pays. The High Volume tier from $350 a month adds ERP integrations and a dedicated account manager. For an Amazon-heavy seller, the free shipping tools plus cheap inventory tier are hard to beat on price.
What we like- Free Shipping plan with unlimited users, products and warehouses
- Pre-negotiated rates with Amazon Shipping, UPS, USPS, FedEx and DHL
- Inventory plan adds automated stock sync and forecasting from $19 a month
Watch out for- The free plan covers shipping only, not inventory sync
- High Volume tier starts at $350 a month
- Amazon-owned, which gives some non-Amazon sellers pause
#3
Ordoro
Best for: Sellers who want shipping, inventory and dropshipping as separate apps
Visit ordoro.com
Starting priceFree (Shipping); $59/month (Shipping Advanced); Inventory from $349/month
Free planYes (Shipping: 100 orders/month, 1 channel, 1 user)
Ordoro's unusual move is selling three apps instead of one platform. Shipping runs from free (100 orders a month) to $59 (Advanced, 3,000 labels) to $149 (Premium, unlimited). Inventory starts at $349 a month (Advanced) and $499 (Premium) with unlimited warehouses, channels and users. Dropshipping starts at $299 a month. Each app offers a 15-day free trial with no credit card required.
The honest catch is the gap between the apps. A seller who needs shipping plus real inventory management pays $59 plus $349 a month, which totals more than SKULabs or Descartes Finale. Ordoro fits businesses that genuinely need only one app, or dropshippers who need the routing and vendor portal features without a full WMS. Price the bundle you need, not the cheapest app.
What we like- Modular apps: buy Shipping, Inventory or Dropshipping separately or bundled
- Free Shipping plan with 100 orders a month
- 15-day free trial with no credit card on paid plans
Watch out for- Inventory app starts at $349 a month, far above the shipping prices
- Overage fees ($30 per 1,000 extra labels, $100 per 1,000 extra orders)
- Your-own-carrier accounts cost extra on lower tiers
#4
SKULabs
Best for: Growing ecommerce brands running their own warehouse
Visit skulabs.com
Starting price$299/month (Starter)
Free planNo
SKULabs is a warehouse management system with order management built in, and its pricing page is unusually transparent. Starter at $299 a month includes 1,000 orders, 3 users, 2 sales channels and 2 warehouses; Basic at $499, Growth at $799, Pro at $999 and Enterprise at $1,999 scale orders, users, channels and API calls. Every plan includes free USPS, UPS and FedEx label generation with no per-label fees, which the vendor contrasts against competitors' per-label charges.
The honest catch is the overage math. Extra orders on Starter cost $0.20 each, so a 2,000-order month costs $499, the same as Basic. Model your real volume including peaks before choosing a tier. For brands doing their own pick, pack and ship who want one system without per-label nickel-and-diming, the pricing is refreshingly straightforward.
What we like- Transparent tiered pricing with no contracts or onboarding fees
- Zero per-label fees for USPS, UPS and FedEx on every plan
- 30-day money-back guarantee
Watch out for- Starter covers only 1,000 orders and 3 users, with $0.20 per extra order
- API access and advanced automation sit on higher tiers
- No free plan or trial mentioned
Starting priceFrom $499/month (Essentials)
Free planNo
Finale Inventory now trades as Descartes Finale, with the same product and the same finaleinventory.com address. Essentials starts at $499 a month for 1 to 2 warehouses, Growth at $799 adds the mobile barcode WMS module and phone support, and Enterprise is custom-quoted for high-volume operations. The platform handles up to 1.5 million orders and 1.5 million products a month at the top end.
The honest catch is the contract shape. Most customers take 12, 24 or 36-month terms for pricing stability, so this is a commitment, not a month-to-month experiment. Overage fees apply past plan limits. For brands with tens of thousands of SKUs across Shopify, Amazon and Walmart who have outgrown lighter tools, it is a proven step up; smaller sellers should start cheaper.
What we like- Built for high SKU counts and multichannel sync (Shopify, Amazon, Walmart, 40-plus channels)
- Barcode WMS module with wave and batch picking
- Onboarding included with every plan
Watch out for- Essentials starts at $499 a month, the highest entry price among published-price tools here
- Enterprise is custom-quoted
- Most customers take 12 to 36-month terms
#6
Brightpearl
Best for: Retailers and wholesalers wanting one retail operating system
Visit brightpearl.com
Starting priceSee website (custom quote)
Free planNo
Brightpearl, owned by Sage, sells itself as a retail operating system rather than an OMS. The platform centralizes inventory, order management, fulfillment, purchasing, accounting and business intelligence, with an automation engine that handles the repetitive work between them. Integrations cover the major sales channels and accounting tools.
The honest catch is that you buy the whole philosophy. Pricing is quoted after a demo, implementations run through Brightpearl's services team, and the platform suits retailers doing meaningful volume across channels. A seller who just needs labels and stock sync will find it heavy and expensive. A multichannel retailer that wants purchasing, warehousing and accounting unified should put it on the shortlist against NetSuite and Cin7.
What we like- Full retail scope: inventory, orders, warehousing, purchasing, accounting, POS and CRM in one system
- Strong automation engine
- Plug-and-play integrations with Shopify, Amazon and TikTok
Watch out for- Quote-only pricing with no public numbers
- Implementation is consultant-led
- More system than a pure shipper needs
Starting priceSee website (custom quote)
Free planNo
Extensiv assembled its platform through acquisitions including Skubana (now Extensiv Order Manager) and 3PL Warehouse Manager. The result covers both sides of fulfillment: brands managing orders across channels, and 3PLs managing warehouse operations for many clients. The vendor reports more than 1,200 3PL customers.
The honest catch is complexity. The site leads with 3PL warehouse management, so a brand evaluating the order management product should confirm it is looking at Extensiv Order Manager specifically. Pricing is quoted, and the platform targets operations with real scale. Smaller sellers get more for their money from the published-price tools above.
What we like- Combines order management (ex-Skubana) with 3PL warehouse management
- Strong integrations marketplace
- Built for scale across many clients or brands
Watch out for- Fully quote-based with no published pricing
- The product line spans several acquisitions, so confirm which product you are buying
- Aimed above the SMB sweet spot
#8
Flxpoint
Best for: Businesses with many suppliers, dropship vendors or marketplace sellers
Visit flxpoint.com
Starting priceSee website (custom quote)
Free planNo
Flxpoint solves a specific painful problem: managing product data, inventory and order routing across dozens or hundreds of suppliers. It ingests vendor files or APIs, maps them once, keeps everything current, and routes each order to the right supplier automatically. The vendor cites customers processing thousands of dropship orders a day through the platform.
The honest catch is fit. If you hold your own inventory and ship it yourself, Flxpoint's supplier machinery adds little. If your catalog comes from 50 vendors and your team still reconciles spreadsheets, it is one of the few tools built exactly for that. Pricing is quoted after a demo, so budget a sales process and ask for customer references in your vertical.
What we like- Purpose-built for multi-supplier dropship and marketplace operations
- Vendor onboarding and catalog mapping handled by the platform
- EDI, API and NetSuite integration services in-house
Watch out for- No published pricing
- Narrower fit than general OMS tools
- Overkill for single-supplier businesses
Shipping-first vs. inventory-first: the OMS split
This category divides cleanly. ShipStation, Veeqo's free plan and Ordoro Shipping solve the shipping problem: labels, rates, tracking, returns. SKULabs, Descartes Finale, Veeqo Inventory and Ordoro Inventory solve the inventory problem: stock levels, purchase orders, warehouse workflows. Brightpearl, Extensiv and Flxpoint sell broader platforms around those cores.
Buy for the problem you have today, not the one you might have in two years. A seller doing 200 orders a month from one stockroom gets everything from ShipStation at $14.99 or Veeqo free. A brand with 20,000 SKUs across three warehouses needs SKULabs or Descartes Finale and should not waste months squeezing into a shipping tool. The modular vendors (Ordoro, Veeqo) let you start shipping-first and add inventory later, which is a sensible middle path.
Watch the per-label and per-order fees
Subscription prices mislead in this category because the metered fees sit underneath. ShipStation charges per shipment tier; exceed your tier and you pay the next one up. SKULabs charges $0.20 per order past your plan's included count. Ordoro charges $30 per 1,000 extra labels and $100 per 1,000 extra orders past limits. Descartes Finale applies overage fees past plan thresholds.
Two vendors break the pattern in opposite directions. SKULabs includes USPS, UPS and FedEx label generation at zero per-label fee on every plan, which matters at volume. Veeqo's free Shipping plan has no subscription at all, so the only costs are postage. When comparing, model a peak month, not an average one: the tool that is cheapest in February can be the most expensive in November.
How we chose
We started with the categories buyers search: order management software, OMS software, multichannel order management and ecommerce order management. For each candidate we opened the vendor's own pricing page, checked prices against public reviews on G2 and Capterra and practitioner discussion on Reddit, and compared order limits, channel coverage and company-size fit. Where a price could not be verified on the vendor's page we wrote "See website" rather than guessing. Orderhive was removed from the shortlist after its site redirected to Cin7 following the acquisition.
Frequently asked questions
How much does order management software cost?
From free to $1,999 a month and beyond. Veeqo Shipping and Ordoro Shipping are free; ShipStation starts at $14.99, Veeqo Inventory at $19 and Ordoro paid Shipping at $59 a month. SKULabs starts at $299, Ordoro Inventory at $349 and Descartes Finale at $499 a month. Brightpearl, Extensiv and Flxpoint are custom-quoted.
What is the difference between an OMS and a WMS?
An OMS manages the order lifecycle across sales channels: routing, splitting, tracking and customer communication. A WMS manages the physical warehouse: receiving, putaway, picking and packing. Tools like SKULabs and Descartes Finale blur the line by doing both; ShipStation and Veeqo stay closer to the order and shipping side.
Do I need order management software if I only sell on Shopify?
Shopify handles orders on one store well. An OMS earns its keep when you add a second channel (Amazon, eBay, Walmart), when order volume passes a few hundred a month, or when stock accuracy across channels becomes a daily problem. Below that, Shopify plus a shipping tool is usually enough.
Which OMS is best for dropshipping?
Ordoro has a dedicated Dropshipping app from $299 a month with vendor portals and order routing. Flxpoint is built for multi-supplier dropship operations with automated vendor onboarding. For simpler supplier-direct fulfillment, ShipStation and Veeqo handle the label and tracking side at much lower cost.
Can I use an OMS with QuickBooks?
Yes. Descartes Finale, Ordoro (Premium tiers), Brightpearl and Extensiv all integrate with QuickBooks, syncing orders, inventory and financials. Confirm whether the integration is included in your tier or a paid add-on, and whether it syncs both ways automatically.
