How we make this list: we compare pricing pages, product documentation and public user reviews. Rankite is independent; if a vendor ever pays for a featured spot, that listing is clearly labeled Partner.
Key takeaways
- Otterly.AI at $29 a month is the cheapest credible entry point for tracking brand mentions across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and Microsoft Copilot.
- Profound ($99 a month) and Brandlight (quote-only) sit at the enterprise end, with compliance features and real user conversation data that smaller tools cannot match.
- Peec AI (from €89 a month) is the best value for multi-country tracking, with daily refreshes and unlimited seats on every plan.
- Scrunch AI (from $250 a month) adds AI crawler analytics and an Agent Experience Platform on top of monitoring; note it was acquired by Sitecore in June 2026.
- No tool in this category gives exact scores, so treat visibility metrics as directional trends rather than precise measurements.

The best LLM SEO rank tracking software
#1
Otterly.AI
Best for: small teams that need affordable AI visibility tracking
Visit otterly.ai
Starting price$29/month (Lite plan)
Free planFree trial
For teams watching every dollar, Otterly.AI is the obvious first stop. The Lite plan at $29 a month tracks 15 prompts daily across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot, with unlimited team seats and a GEO audit feature that checks on-page factors affecting citation likelihood. That is a genuine working plan, not a crippled demo, and it is enough for a solo marketer or small brand validating whether AI search matters for them.
The catch is the add-on structure. If your audience asks Gemini or Claude questions, you pay $9 to $29 a month extra per engine on Lite, and those add-on prices climb steeply on higher tiers. The 15-prompt ceiling also runs out quickly once you track a full product line or several competitors. Most growing teams land on the $189 Standard plan with 100 prompts. Check the pricing page, not the homepage, since the homepage names all seven engines without flagging that three cost extra.
What we like- Lowest entry price in the category
- Daily tracking across four engines
- GEO audit included on every plan
Watch out for- Claude, Gemini, and Google AI Mode cost extra as add-ons
- 15-prompt cap on Lite fills fast
#2
Peec AI
Best for: agencies and mid-market teams tracking multiple countries
Visit peec.ai
Starting price€89/month (Starter plan)
Free planFree trial (7 days, no credit card)
Peec AI, based in Berlin, has become the default recommendation for teams that want broad multi-engine tracking without enterprise paperwork. The Starter plan at €89 a month covers 50 prompts with daily refreshes, and every tier includes unlimited seats and unlimited countries, which makes the seat math very favorable next to per-seat competitors. It tracks mentions, position, sentiment, and citations, and it distinguishes between sources an AI answer used and sources it actually cited, a useful distinction for content teams.
What Peec does not do is fix anything. It reports the gap between you and competitors but leaves the content work to your team or another platform. The base plans cover a choice of three engines from six, and adding Gemini, Claude, or Google AI Mode costs extra per engine per month. Do the add-on math before you sign up, because the real cost of full coverage runs meaningfully above the headline price.
What we like- Daily refreshes and unlimited seats on every plan
- Distinguishes sources AI used versus cited
- 115+ languages and regions
Watch out for- Monitoring only, with no content optimization features
- Extra engines sold as add-ons
- Euro pricing adds variability for US teams
Starting price$99/month (Starter plan)
Free planNo (demos only)
Profound is the category's unicorn, having raised over $300 million and reached a $1.8 billion valuation by September 2026. Its differentiator is data provenance: it draws on a large dataset of real, double opt-in consumer conversations with AI assistants rather than synthetic API estimates, which gives its share-of-voice and conversation explorer data a credibility edge. Enterprise buyers also get SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA compliance, SSO, and dedicated support.
The trade-offs are real. There is no free trial, only demos, so you commit financially before validating fit. The $99 Starter plan tracks 50 prompts across ChatGPT only, which is thin for the money, and meaningful multi-engine coverage starts at the $399 Growth tier. The credit-based model for its newer Profound Agents adds variable costs. Profound is built for teams with budget and compliance requirements, not for solo marketers experimenting.
What we like- Real user conversation data instead of synthetic estimates
- SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA compliance
- ChatGPT Shopping tracking
Watch out for- No free trial, so you commit before testing
- Starter covers ChatGPT only
- Credit-based pricing can be hard to forecast
#4
Scrunch AI
Best for: teams that want monitoring plus AI crawler analytics
Visit scrunch.com
Starting price$300/month (Starter plan)
Free planFree trial (7 days, no credit card)
Scrunch AI stands out because it looks at both sides of AI visibility. Alongside prompt-level monitoring across nine engines, it shows AI bot crawl data (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot: frequency, most-crawled pages) and attributes human visits from AI engines through a GA4 integration. Its Agent Experience Platform detects AI retrieval traffic at the CDN layer and serves a machine-readable version of your pages, which is a distinctive technical approach to getting cited.
One fact buyers should know: Scrunch was acquired by Sitecore in June 2026 after raising $19 million. The product continues as a standalone platform, but the roadmap now sits inside a larger DXP company, which matters if you are not a Sitecore shop. Pricing starts at $300 a month for the Starter plan (350 custom prompts, 3 seats), with a 17% discount on annual billing. It is not cheap, but for teams that suspect infrastructure rather than content is their visibility problem, the crawler data is hard to get elsewhere.
What we like- Bot-level AI crawler analytics included
- Agent Experience Platform serves machine-readable pages
- 9 engine coverage on every tier
Watch out for- High entry price for small businesses
- Acquired by Sitecore in June 2026, so the roadmap now answers to a new parent
- Monitoring depth exceeds its optimization features
Starting price$20/month (Essentials plan)
Free planFree trial (7 days on Pro)
Rankscale is the budget experimenter's pick. The Essentials plan starts around $20 a month on a credit model, where each engine query typically costs 0.25 credits per engine per prompt, and prompts can run hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly. That makes it cheap to test AI visibility tracking before committing to a heavier platform, and the Pro plan at $99 a month adds white-label dashboards, an API, and unlimited seats.
The credit system is both the appeal and the homework. You need to model how many prompts, engines, and check frequencies you will run, or costs drift. Rankscale is also firmly a monitoring tool: it shows where you stand and benchmarks competitors, but the guidance on what to change is thinner than on platforms with built-in optimization. For startups and small SEO teams, though, the low entry price and hourly tracking options are genuinely useful.
What we like- Very low entry price
- Prompts can run hourly to monthly
- White-label dashboards on Pro
Watch out for- Credit math takes planning
- Mainly monitoring with thin action guidance
- Smaller vendor with a thin review footprint
Starting priceSee website (quote-only)
Free planNo
Brandlight plays a different game from the self-serve tools on this list. It is a sales-led enterprise platform, reportedly used by large consumer brands, that pairs deep visibility tracking across 13 engines with an execution layer: the findings arrive with a plan to act on them, which is the main thing smaller tools leave to your team. Pricing is quote-only, starting with a paid three-month pilot, and third-party estimates put it in the low-to-mid four figures per month.
That positioning is also its limitation. There is no way to evaluate it alone this week, and the deployment is heavyweight by design. For a global brand with PR, governance, and board-level reporting requirements, Brandlight is one of the few options built for that reality. For everyone else, the self-serve tools above deliver the core tracking at a fraction of the cost and commitment.
What we like- 13 engines tracked
- Optimization recommendations arrive built, not just reported
- Enterprise governance baked in
Watch out for- Sales-led with no published pricing
- Paid pilot required to evaluate
- Overkill for teams under mid-market size
#7
Goodie
Best for: brands that want tracking wired to optimization actions
Visit higoodie.com
Starting price$399/month (Explorer plan)
Free planFree trial (7 days)
Goodie positions itself as a closed-loop AEO platform rather than a pure tracker: it monitors visibility, then its agentic action layer and AEO Content Writer turn findings into content changes, with revenue attribution through Google Analytics to close the loop. It covers up to 11 engines, and it is one of the few tools with SKU-level visibility inside AI shopping surfaces like Amazon Rufus, ChatGPT Shopping, and Walmart Sparky, which matters for ecommerce brands.
The entry price of $399 a month for the Explorer plan (100 prompts, three engines) is steep for tracking alone, and the limits bite: no data export until the Team tier, no API until Enterprise, and only three months of historical data on lower plans. Goodie makes sense if you want one system to measure, optimize, and prove ROI, and you have the budget to match. If you only need to know where you stand, cheaper tools do that part.
What we like- Closed-loop workflow from detection to optimization
- AI shopping visibility for Amazon Rufus and ChatGPT Shopping
- Broad engine coverage
Watch out for- High entry price
- No data export until Team tier
- API reserved for Enterprise
#8
AthenaHQ
Best for: teams that want to test with their own data first
Visit athenahq.ai
Starting price$295/month (Starter plan)
Free planYes (free Essential plan with a $25 credit)
AthenaHQ wins on try-before-you-buy. Its free Essential plan includes a $25 credit and 300 credits across ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, Gemini, and Copilot, so you can run real tracking with your own prompts before any budget conversation. Paid plans start at $295 a month for the Starter tier with 3,600 credits and visibility across 11 models.
Credits are the thing to read carefully: one credit equals one AI response, and the plans page does not spell out whether the free credit renews or how often prompts run, so ask before relying on it. At $295 a month entry, paid AthenaHQ is priced for teams that are already convinced AI visibility matters. But as a way to arrive at your first budget meeting with your own data in hand, the free tier is the most generous on-ramp in this category.
What we like- Free tier lets you run real tracking before paying
- 11 models on paid plans
- Looker Studio and API access available
Watch out for- Credit model needs careful reading
- Paid plans start high for small teams
- Compliance posture is thinner than enterprise rivals
#9
SE Ranking
Best for: SEO teams that want AI Overviews inside their existing suite
Visit seranking.com
Starting price$52/month (Essential, billed annually)
Free planFree trial (14 days, no credit card)
SE Ranking is not a dedicated AI visibility platform, and that is exactly its appeal. Its AI Search Toolkit tracks brand mentions and citations across AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity, reading responses as a real user would see them, inside the same subscription as rank tracking, site audits, and backlink analysis. The Essential plan starts at $52 a month billed annually ($65 monthly), with a free checker that allows five checks a day and a 14-day trial with no card.
The limitation is scope. This is meaningfully more Google-centric than the dedicated tools above: it covers AI Overviews and AI Mode well but does not go as deep on Claude, Copilot, or Meta AI. For small businesses and agencies already paying for SE Ranking, though, it removes the need for a second platform entirely, and the marginal cost of AI tracking is near zero.
What we like- AI Overviews and AI Mode tracking bundled with full SEO suite
- Reads responses as a real user would see them
- Free checker allows 5 checks a day
Watch out for- No free plan
- AI tracking is Google-centric rather than full multi-engine
- Some advanced features locked to higher tiers
How we chose
We started from tools that actively track brand presence inside AI-generated answers as of October 2026, not traditional rank trackers with an AI label. For each candidate we checked the vendor's own pricing page and documentation, read recent independent reviews on G2, Capterra, and Reddit, and looked for evidence the product is maintained: recent feature releases, funding or acquisition news, and real customer references. Tools that had shut down, pivoted away from tracking, or published no verifiable pricing were left out. Prices shown are the entry plan as listed on the vendor's pricing page in October 2026; where vendors price in credits or euros, we say so, because the headline number is rarely the real cost.
What to check before you buy
Start with engines, not features. Your buyers ask questions in specific places, and at minimum you need coverage of ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews, which carry the largest share of AI-driven search traffic in 2026. Add Gemini and Perplexity if either shows up in your own referral data; beyond that, more engines mainly matter for enterprise brands with broad reach. Then check the prompt math: count the questions you want to track, multiply by engines and check frequency, and price the credit or add-on structure against that number. A $29 plan that needs $76 in engine add-ons is not a $29 plan.
Ask how often prompts run and whether answers are sampled more than once. AI outputs vary by phrasing and by run, so a tool that reports a single score from a single run will show movement that is not real. Check whether the tool shows the cited page or only a mention count; for content teams, the cited page is the actionable half. Finally, confirm data export, API access, and SSO on the plan you would actually buy, since vendors commonly gate those upward. If procurement requires SOC 2, shortlist accordingly: only some tools in this category carry it.
Three pricing patterns deserve a second look. First, per-engine add-ons: several vendors include three or four engines in the base plan and sell the rest separately, so full coverage can double the sticker price. Second, credit models: vendors price in prompts, credits, or responses, and the conversion (often 0.25 credits per engine per prompt) is easy to misread. Model a realistic month before you commit. Third, annual discounts of 15 to 20 percent are standard, which means the monthly-billed price you see on the pricing page is the price most teams actually pay at first. None of these are deal-breakers, but all of them change the ranking of "cheapest" once you do the math.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a dedicated LLM rank tracking tool if I already use an SEO platform?
Not necessarily. Semrush and Ahrefs both offer AI visibility add-ons, and SE Ranking bundles AI Overview tracking into its suite. A dedicated tool earns its place when you need prompt-level tracking across many engines, daily refreshes, and citation-level detail that the add-ons do not provide.
How accurate is AI visibility tracking?
Directionally accurate, not precise. Different tools measure mentions, citations, and share of voice differently, and AI answers vary between runs, so treat scores as trends rather than exact numbers. Compare a tool against itself over time, not against a competitor's tool.
Which AI engines should I track?
At minimum ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews. Add Perplexity and Gemini if they appear in your referral traffic. More engines help enterprise brands with broad audiences; for most small businesses, four engines cover the meaningful ground.
Can these tools improve my visibility, or just measure it?
Most measure only. Peec AI, Otterly.AI, and Rankscale report the gap and leave the content work to you. Goodie, Scrunch AI, and Brandlight attach optimization guidance or execution, which is why they cost more.
What is the difference between AI visibility tracking and traditional rank tracking?
A rank tracker checks a fixed position on a results page. An AI visibility tool checks whether your brand is mentioned or cited inside a generated answer, which changes with query phrasing and has no fixed position to track.
How much should a small business spend on this?
Start with the cheapest credible option: Otterly.AI at $29 a month or SE Ranking's bundled tracking if you already subscribe. Scale up only when AI visibility starts influencing pipeline, not before.
