The best Bolt.new alternatives
Bolt.new made it normal to type a prompt and get a working web app in your browser a few minutes later. It now offers a free tier with 1 million tokens a month and a Pro plan with 10 million tokens, rollover and your own domain. Many people still look elsewhere, usually for one of three reasons: token use that is hard to predict on bigger projects, the wish for a stronger backend, or a need for native mobile apps.
The tools below are ranked by how well they replace Bolt for a typical founder, marketer or small team building a real product, not a demo. Prices come from each vendor's own pricing page in October 2026. Most of these tools use credits, so the starting price tells you the entry cost but not how far it will go. Where a vendor does not show a clear price, we say "See website".
#1Lovable
Best for: Non-developers who want a full product from chat4.6/5 on
G2 (456 reviews, checked Oct 2026)
Visit lovable.dev
Starting priceSee website
Free planYes
Lovable is the most direct Bolt competitor and, for many users, the easiest to get good results from. You describe what you want and watch it build the app in real time, then keep chatting until it looks and works the way you want. Lovable handles hosting, SSL, authentication, payments and integrations, so a non-developer can ship something real without touching a server.
Teams like the pricing model. Workspaces support unlimited members on all plans, and everyone draws from a shared credit balance, with owners able to set limits so one person does not use it all. Lovable says your code and data stay yours.
Starting is free: the free plan gives 5 build credits a day, up to 30 a month. Paid plans add a monthly credit balance, and Pro and Business include grants for building and hosting on Lovable Cloud. Check the pricing page for current plan prices.
What we like- Builds full-stack apps from plain-language prompts
- Hosting, SSL, authentication, payments and backend handled for you
- Unlimited members on every plan, priced by credits instead of seats
Watch out for- Credits are not refundable and monthly credits expire two months after they are issued
- Complex changes can use many credits
#2Replit
Best for: Builders who want a full coding environment4.4/5 on
G2 (417 reviews, checked Oct 2026)
Visit replit.com
Starting price$20 per month ($18 billed annually)
Free planYes
Replit started as an online coding environment, and its AI agent now sits on top of that. You describe your project and Replit writes, runs and publishes the code, while the full editor is there if you or a developer want to step in. That combination makes it a good home for apps that will grow past a prototype.
Authentication, database, hosting and monitoring are built in, and Replit lists more than 100 integrations. A visual design space lets you explore and tweak designs, then apply them to your app. For companies, Replit offers SSO, SAML, SOC 2 and admin controls.
The Core plan is $20 per month, or $18 per month on annual billing, and includes $20 toward more powerful models plus usage in its Free Mode. Pro is $100 per month for commercial builds, with up to 15 collaborators and database rollback up to 28 days.
What we like- Built-in authentication, database, hosting and monitoring with no setup
- More than 100 integrations, including OpenAI, Stripe and Google Workspace
- Enterprise controls such as SSO, SAML and SOC 2
Watch out for- Usage-based credits can add up on larger builds
- More options than a beginner may need
#3v0
Best for: Developers building on React and Vercel4.5/5 on
G2 (28 reviews, checked Oct 2026)
Visit v0.app
Starting price$30 per user per month
Free planYes
v0 is Vercel's AI app builder, and it shows in the details. It generates working applications, lets you fine-tune the design with visual controls and live preview, and publishes to production with one click. You can connect GitHub and push code straight to your repository, which makes v0 a comfortable choice for developers who want to keep ownership of clean code.
It also supports design systems, so colors, typography and styles stay consistent across projects, and the agent can plan, create tasks and connect to databases as it builds.
There is a free plan. Plus costs $30 per user per month with $30 of included monthly credits and $2 of free daily credits on login, and Business is $100 per user per month with training opt-out by default. Model usage is priced per million tokens, with cheaper and more capable models to choose from.
What we like- Generates working full-stack apps and publishes them as live sites
- GitHub sync and one-click deployment on Vercel
- Visual controls, design systems and ready-made components
Watch out for- Usage is billed by tokens, which takes some getting used to
- Best suited to the Vercel stack
#4Base44
Best for: Founders who want backend, auth and payments built in3.8/5 on
G2 (4 reviews, checked Oct 2026)
Visit base44.com
Starting price$16 per month (billed annually)
Free planYes
Base44 aims to remove setup entirely. You describe an app or website in your own words, and it builds it with the backend, authentication, payments and hosting already in place. It also includes built-in SEO tools and lets you create AI agents that connect to your tools and take action around the clock.
A visual canvas shows every page at once, so you can leave notes, sketch ideas and send instructions directly. Base44 says you own everything you build, including your code, data and users, with two-way Git integration.
The Free plan includes 25 message credits and 100 integration credits a month. Paid plans start at $16 per month on annual billing with 100 message credits and 2,000 integration credits, and run up to the Elite plan at $160 per month, also billed annually. Base44 also runs a startup program with a free annual license for eligible founders.
What we like- Backend, authentication, payments and hosting already built in
- You own your code, data and users, with two-way Git sync
- Can also build AI agents that connect to your tools
Watch out for- Message and integration credits are separate, so check both limits
- Higher tiers get expensive
Starting price$20 per month ($17 billed annually)
Free planYes
Emergent is a vibe coding platform that turns a plain-language description into a working app with screens, flows and core features. You then adjust visuals and features until it matches what you had in mind, and publish on built-in hosting with secure databases and APIs already configured.
Its range is broad. Emergent lists web apps, mobile apps, dashboards, ecommerce sites, SaaS tools and internal business apps among the things you can build, and its higher plan adds custom AI agents.
The Free plan includes 10 credits a month. The Standard plan is $20 per month, or $17 per month billed annually, with 100 credits a month, private project hosting and GitHub integration. The Pro plan is $200 per month, or $167 billed annually, with 750 monthly credits and priority support.
What we like- Builds both web and mobile apps
- Built-in hosting with databases and APIs set up for you
- GitHub integration on paid plans
Watch out for- The free plan has only 10 credits a month
- The jump to the next tier is large
#6Bubble
Best for: Visual control and native mobile apps4.4/5 on
G2 (166 reviews, checked Oct 2026)
Visit bubble.io
Starting price$32 per month (billed annually)
Free planYes
Bubble has been around much longer than Bolt and takes a different approach. Instead of generating code you edit, it builds your app in a visual editor where every component, workflow and database field can be seen and changed without code. The Bubble AI Agent can now do the setup for you, then you switch to the editor for precise control.
The biggest reason to choose Bubble over Bolt is mobile. Bubble builds native iOS and Android apps that share data and workflows with your web app, and you can submit directly to the App Store and Google Play.
The Free plan includes 500 AI credits a month. Paid plans on annual billing start at $32 per month for Starter, then $119 for Growth and $349 for Team, each with more AI credits and workload units. Enterprise pricing is on request.
What we like- Switch between an AI agent and a fully visual editor, including the backend
- Native iOS and Android apps that share data with your web app
- Hosting, security and infrastructure included
Watch out for- Bubble apps live on Bubble, so you do not get a standard codebase to take elsewhere
- Workload units add a second limit to watch
#7
Macaly
Best for: Small business sites and apps, including from Claude or ChatGPT
Visit macaly.com
Starting price$10 per month
Free planYes
Macaly is an AI developer aimed at founders and small businesses. It ships full-stack sites and apps from a prompt, with forms, orders, bookings and user sign-ins built in, cookie-free visitor analytics and Stripe payments. It connects to Google Sheets, Notion and GitHub.
What sets Macaly apart is where you can build. Besides its own interface, you can build sites and apps from inside Claude or ChatGPT on Macaly's hosting and database, or even from a WhatsApp conversation. It also runs an SEO audit after every publish and fixes issues for you.
The Free plan lets you try ideas with one published app. Starter is $10 per month, Pro is $30 per month and Max is $90 per month, with more credits and published apps at each step. Agency plans start at $150 per month and include credits that roll over for up to 60 days.
What we like- Hosting, database and sign-in included on every plan
- Build from Claude, ChatGPT or WhatsApp as well as its own app
- SEO audit after every publish, with fixes made by the agent
Watch out for- Monthly credits on individual plans do not roll over
- Designed for small business projects more than complex software
Starting price$19 per month (billed annually)
Free planYes
Anything turns prompts into mobile apps, websites and tools built with real code, with more than 40 integrations available. It explores your app as it builds, detects and fixes errors on its own and refactors the project as it grows, which the company says supports projects over 100,000 lines of code.
Every app comes with an instant development and production Postgres database, with at least 1 GB free per app, so you do not have to set up a backend yourself.
There is a free plan to get started. The Pro 20k plan is $19 per month on annual billing with 20,000 credits a month, private projects, custom domains and no Anything branding. A larger plan at $199 per month adds 200,000 credits and access to the company's most capable model.
What we like- Builds mobile apps, sites and tools from prompts
- Detects and fixes errors on its own
- Instant Postgres database with 1 GB or more free per app
Watch out for- Credits are needed for most real work
- Fewer collaboration features than team-focused rivals
How we chose
We looked at what Bolt users most often say they want from a replacement: predictable costs, a real backend, easy deployment, code ownership and, for some, mobile apps. We then read each vendor's homepage, pricing page and FAQ in October 2026 and noted how credits, tokens and seats are counted.
We did not build the same app in every tool, so the rankings reflect published features, pricing and fit for a typical founder or small team. Tools that handle hosting, auth and data without extra setup rank higher, because that is where most prototypes stall.
How to choose a Bolt.new alternative
Decide how technical you want to be
If you never want to see code, Lovable, Base44 and Macaly keep things simple. If you want to edit code yourself or hand it to a developer later, Replit and v0 give you more control. Bubble is a middle path: no code, but full visual control.
Check what is built in
A front end alone is not an app. Look for authentication, a database, payments and hosting on the plan you will actually pay for, and check whether you can connect your own domain.
Understand the credit system
Every tool here limits usage with credits, tokens or messages. Ask how much one change costs, whether unused credits roll over and what happens when you run out. A cheap plan that runs out halfway through the month is not cheap.
Plan your exit
If your app takes off, you may want to move it. Tools with GitHub sync or code export, such as v0, Replit and Base44, make that easier than closed visual platforms.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best free alternative to Bolt.new?
Lovable, Replit, v0, Base44, Emergent, Bubble, Macaly and Anything all have free plans. Lovable's free plan gives 5 build credits a day, up to 30 a month, which is enough to judge whether it suits you.
Is Lovable better than Bolt.new?
Lovable is often easier for non-developers because it handles hosting, authentication and payments for you. Bolt gives a more traditional in-browser coding feel. Try both on the same small project before you pay.
Which Bolt alternative can build mobile apps?
Bubble builds native iOS and Android apps and can submit them to the app stores. Emergent and Anything also build mobile apps from prompts.
Can I export my code from these tools?
Most code-based tools let you keep your code. v0 pushes to GitHub, Base44 offers two-way Git sync and Replit gives you the full project. Bubble apps run on Bubble's platform instead.
Which Bolt alternative is cheapest?
Macaly's Starter plan at $10 per month and Base44 at $16 per month on annual billing are the lowest entry prices on this list. Usage limits matter more than the headline price, so compare credits too.
